Preparing for the USRSA Certification Test

USRSA certification is designed to offer a powerful competitive advantage to a knowledgeable racquet service professional. Only current members who maintain their certified status will be listed on the USRSA website for consumers looking for stringers.

To apply for your certification test for Master Racquet Technician (MRT), Certified Stringer (CS), or Professional Racquet Advisor (PRA) designation, fill out the on-line form here, or print and mail/fax the application form below.

IMPORTANT: Professional stringing machines will be available at each test sitefor MRT & CS exams. We recommend you contact your tester before the test to see if you are comfortable working on the machines they have available. If you are not comfortable working on one of their machines, you may bring your own professional-model stringing machine with prior approval from the USRSA.

  This above signature acknowledges that the information given is accurate. Intentional misrepresentation may void your Certification status without refund or obligation by the USRSA.

Requirements

PLEASE NOTE: Before you can be approved for Certification testing, the following requirements MUST be fulfilled.

  • Your application must be received in USRSA Office no less than three (3) weeks prior to your chosen test date for tests in the United States. For tests outside the United States, your application must be received in USRSA Office no less than seven (7) weeks prior to your chosen test date.
  • You must pay the required test fees.
  • Finally, please bring a strung tennis racquet and a replacement grommet/bumper system for that frame to the test site. (Please verify ahead of time that your chosen racquet is acceptable.)

Cancellation policy

You must provide USRSA with one-week notice of cancellation. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of 50% of test fees. Failure to notify the USRSA 24 hours prior to testing will result in total forfeiture of test fees.
